Taking The 40

Cincinnati slang for taking an obscene amount of time to complete a task.

taking the elevator

When someone uses means of climbing their way to the top that other would deem cheap or unfair. Usually (but not always) refers to online games with a ladder ranking system. People who "take the elevator instead of the ladder" will use powerful characters, weapons, or tactics that they know all too well are soon to receive the ban hammer or their bullshitly high power to skill ratio in order to get as high up on the ranking ladder for the game as they can, usually for fame, respect, and power in the community.

David took the elevator instead of the corporate ladder to become VP of his company by brown nosing the boss.

Many of the newer or less experienced players on Pokemon Showdown were taking the elevator instead of the ladder by abusing the fuck out of Mega Gengar before its imminent ban from OU. The ladder gets reset after each ban anyways, so the joke is on them.

Taking a Harry

You know in Dumb and Dumber when Lloyd gives Harry the laxative and Harry destroys the toilet before his hot date with Mary Swanson? Ya, you just took a Harry.

Taking a Harry:

I just took a Harry. I totally Harry'd in the bathroom. Don't go in there, I just Harry'd your toilet.

If you don't want to come clean, just say,"Don't come in, I'm shaving."

Safe Take

Similarly defined to a hot take, but it isn't anywhere near as daring or bold. This type of opinion is either already a popular one among the majority of people, or it makes the person expressing the opinion not wrong regardless of the outcome.

Safe Take: "I think Team A will win, but I wouldn't be surprised if Team B does."

Safe Take #2: "The Lakers are going to destroy the Timberwolves."

Take a Barry

Just a more common way to express the rapid advent of excessive feces that may risk clogging conventional standard sized tubing systems. Is also used to express the process of a natural process getting rid of useless material, likewise to healthy digestion getting rid of useless material.

Damn, I really have to take a Barry now. I hope it doesn't again clog the whole damn toilet like last time man.

Gavin take

Having an opinion that is far worse than anyone can imagine, it’s a rare case in which your opinion is just wrong

Gavin: I think pistachio ice cream is actually really good
Jay: Gavin take

Take me

A very clear signal that the phrase's user is groin-grabbingly horny and wants whomever they direct it to have sex with them right now.

This is incredibly sexy when it's said by an attractive, submissive female.

When the attractive, submissive female whispered, "Take me," I couldn't help but do what she wished.
