A text message sent to a former lover that may give false hope to the brokenhearted but only serves to boost the heart breaker's fragile ego. Pay Attention to Me Texts often appear casual and benign, such as "Hey, what's up?" However, when properly ignored, they frequently progress to more desperate attempts to be noticed, such as, "I heard our song on the radio today," or "I can't stop thinking about you."
The entire exchange may serve to rebuild the brokenhearted's self-esteem and partially restore the balance of power in a failed relationship, but all is lost the moment he or she responds to the text.
Guy#1: Marlene texted me today to say she misses me. Maybe she wants to get back together?
Guy#2: No way, dude, that's just a Pay Attention to Me Text. Ignore that shit!

Contrary to what most people think they are, attention craving whores/bastards can be male OR female. A common noticeable trait is a general lack of interest by their own parents. Thanks to mom and and dad not giving a shit, ordinary people have to deal with them IRL or on teh internet. Guilty of spending too much time copying what "works" instead of developing their own personal qualities.
Noticeable symptoms BE noticeable : no personality, no imagination, despicable sense of humor, generally boring, spend waaaaayy to much time figuring what is LULZ enducing when they don't even know WTF LULZ even means. Driven by the motivation of copying everything that gets thumbs up on teh internet, even to the point point of impersonating people they can't even figure out. The worst kinds even post their own botched up photos because they are sincerely convinced someone will give a shit, even though mom and dad stopped caring 20 years ago when they bought the new Mac ripoff. Generally think they are "special", even though lacking the meaning of imagination. Most often then not put their hands on automated software like Photoshop or Reason and post the awful results shamelessly on social networks, thinking they are "artists" while their hollow shells mass up to buy more bigmacs. And still fucking complain. To sum it up, sad empty people you have to help/avoid, but life is hard as it is and not everyone is mother Theresa.
Attention craving whores still think marketing driven "music" and "movies" are actually good.

An ASM (attention-seeking-missile) is an intentional, and often desperate, attempt to draw attention to oneself by either interjecting a personal painful anecdote, faking a painful sound (coughing, sighing or panting), adding one's own comparable achievement or failure, or unnecessarily repeatedly bringing up past sufferings that turned into accomplishments.
While we were sitting around carefully listening to the story of Sam's accident, Georgio dropped an ASM about his accident that happened 15 years ago.
His older siblings kept watching TV and ignoring him while he kept dropping ASMs in the form of fake crying and painful screams.
We loved Umar's new house but Brian kept dropping attention-seeking-missile (ASM) by constantly talking about the rooms in his house and comparing them.

Boy ADD (BADD):
While the term ADD, or attention-deficit disorder, has become increasingly popular among laypersons, BADD, or Boy attention-deficit disorder is a lesser known variant. It is a clinically diagnosed disorder characterized by inattention to girls including little interest in pursuing friendships with them, hyperactivity around boys, and impulsiveness towards boys (both sexual and non-sexual).
As with all disorders there are differing symptoms among sufferers which also may include;
Having several 'crushes' and/or 'seeing' seeing several different boys concurrently, Seeing boys as objects and thus "collectible" and craving male attention.
Note: Sufferers behaviors can be seen as more socially acceptable than sluts as their behaviors are not always sexual, however general consensus is that featured behaviors are on a par with that of sexual sluts due to emotional impact on boys that may unknowingly get involved.
Etiology - can be several contributing factors.
