A prepatory person, who is consistant in their fashions, attitude, and friends. "preps" usually dress very well, and are comonly refeared to as "the stuck up people".
How most non-preps would describe a preps convorsation:
"So, like, Jess, you wanna go to the mall?"
"Like, OMG! I was JUST thinking that! Tee-hee!!"

A prep is someone who wants to look good. They may wear american eagle or abercrombie or express. They also wear lacoste and burbery and all that good shit. But preps aren't all smart and don't always end up in good colleges. If they do, it's becuase they're parents buy their way into the college if the kid is too dumb to get in. So preps just wanna look good even if it means shopping at american eagle.
I don't need an example to explain it, if you can't see the real picture of what a prep is then that's ur own fault.

A name which has basically become an insult used to describe people that want to look and dress nice and have an active social life. You don't have to be rich to be a preppy, just have to look good (Many personalities are measured by how they keep up their appearance). The only people that don't like preps are usually kids that can't fit in or get picked on a lot because they look like retards, are fat, antisocial, or all 3. Just because some people like to be happy once in awhile and you can't because of your code of gothiness or emoness prevent you from doing so because you would be afraid to lose those friends and be called a "conformist." I would consider myself preppy (I don't like to label, subcultures are retarded) but I'm not rich or anything and I hang out with girls that say like a lot and most of my friends wear polo's (Oh, and from KOHLS. Wow...) People can spend their money how they want to. If they want a set of ripped jeans from AE go for it.
All the punkers gathered in a circle when the evil preps came along and when they passed them they started snickering and calling them preps and then they would later go home that night and get a boner from saying it - even the punk girls.

1. Someone who wears what is "in" and it is usually pink. (I have nothing against guys wearing pink, I wear it all the time but usually when girls wear pink it is very preppy). These trends come from people in the mainstream media like Ashlee Simpson. My philosophy is that preps are like lemons in many ways: they all look alike, they're all dumb, and we can't figure out what plant either of them grows on.
Preps are noobs.
(I admitt there are some girls who wear prep clothes who are not preps).
