Gettin' Some Ted

Arriving on the green in regulation of any given hole while playing golf. Evolved from 'being on the dance floor,' to 'you're dancin,' to 'you're Ted Dansen,' to 'Gettin' gettin' some Ted!' Best used in team play to inform your partner of your status, works best when money is invloved, and when sung to the harmony of the song "Gettin' Some (Head)" by artist Shawnna.

On a Par 5, you're partner is only within shouting distance of you. Your third shot sticks on the green, awarding you a point in your bet with the other team. You proclaim that you are 'Gettin' some Ted' while you dance around your opponent, and loud enough so your teammate in the other cart can engage in the same behavior, demoralizing your opponents.

eBay-ted breath

Waiting with eBay-ted breath:

1.The state of an eBayer whilst waiting to see if they will win an item, or be outbid at the last minute.

2. The feeling during the waiting period between winning an item on eBay and receiving it.

1. "I won't be on msn tonight, I'm waiting with eBay-ted breath to see if Bidder3 outbids me."

2. Alice was waiting with eBay-ted breath for the spork she ordered to arrive. She'd asked for yellow, and wanted to see if a spoon+fork+knife in one object could actually exist..

The Ted & Robin Pact

This stems from the popular CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. Ted Mosby and Robin Scherbatsky are eating a nice meal together after Ted breaks up with his "douche" of a girlfriend in Episode 17 of Season 4 of the previously stated sitcom when Robin gets an idea she decides to share with one of her very close friends, Ted.

Robin: "We should make a pact! If the years go by and we both turn 40 and we're still single-"
(Ted gets up, gets down on one knee and takes Robin's hand)
Ted: "Robin Scherbatsky, will you be my back up wife?"
Robin: (jokingly tearful) "A girl always dreams of hearing those words. Yes! Yes! A million times yes!"

So to paraphrase what it means to make The Ted & Robin Pact, you and somebody special decide that if both of you turn 40 and are still single, then you get together and avoid loneliness.

Of course, it is still within this definition to deviate away from the exact guidelines. Such as changing the age to 35 or even 30. This example is just to put the idea in anybody's mind because anybody may be interested in this "back up plan".

I must, however, state that if you do intend to make this pact with someone or just put the idea out there, please make sure both parties know what level of seriousness you are taking to this conversation. If one person is really serious and the other may just be kidding around, then the outcome could possibly be out of your best interest.

Be RESPONSIBLE.

Me and a female friend of mine actually made The Ted & Robin Pact and set the age at 35. This pact is surprisingly fun and uplifting to share with others seeing as, in this day and age, people often worry about whether or not they will end up with someone or they fear they will die alone.

TED-talk voice

1) A self-important tone used by a TEDtard to explain something obvious or stupid.

2) A manner of interpersonal communication that sounds too practiced or polished, like public speech.

3) Any way of communicating that betrays the speaker's desperation for validation by an audience of people who self-identify as intellectuals.

1) John's TED-talk voice did little to compensate for his lifelong habit of unoriginal thought.

2) Weekly meetings would be less intolerable if Lundberg would quit using that TED-talk voice he must have learned in B school and instead show some humanity.

3) Martha's incessant TED-talk voice stood out like the one Australian accent in the room, only instead of charming it was obnoxious. Her desperation for peer validation was as pathetic as it was irritating to anyone within earshot.
