Indie grunge is a style influenced by bands around the 1990's e.g. Nirvana, Pearl Jam etc
Indie stands for individual so 'weird and wonderful' kin of look. Mixing it with the rebellious grunge makes a softer version of it appealing to many people.
Style items include:
•Distressed jeans/shorts/tights
•Band tshirts and tshirts with some colour
•Round glasses
•Combat boots
Look at Rachel dressed in her ripped shorts tights and a band tee while listening to al bairre, she's definitely got an indie grunge style!

Someone who says she/he listens to indie, when in reality all their music comes from websites that advertise as a place to get "indie rock" therefor not making it indie. Also someone who claims to know an indie band when in reality he/she just claims to in order to be accepted.
Indie kid: Do you know this band?
Indie wannabe: Yeah totally
Indie kid: name one of their songs.
Indie wannabe: uhmm...

Semi long, outgrown rebelious hair that is shorter than a mullet with fringe. This hair style can usually be seen on cute boys who listen to alternative/indie music.
Usually boys who sport one, are either want-to-be hipsters or are musicians who probably play piano and sing melodramatic songs.
The Killers' Brandon Flowers once sported Indie Hair, in a forgotten time period.

Indie girls are usually into any form of art and are very artistic, whether in photography, instrumental, drawing, etc. Normally, they listen to bands / music other people have never even heard of, mostly up-beat music. Theres not really a specific way to dress, if there were a specific way to dress, that wouldnt make you very independent now would it? They kind of have that I-dont-give-a-crap-what-you-think-of-me-and-how-I-dress kind of thing, which is never bad to have. They are usually happy and dont label themselves as indie. They arent violent most of the time, and photography is one of the things they may love to do. They dont try to fit in to the crowd just to be someone, they are very independent in what they do. Most of the time they are quiet and maybe even alone, but arent sad about it because they enjoy it. Its kind of hard to explain, but I love everything about indie girls. But thats just my opinion~
Girl A; "Do you see that girl over there at the end of the hall?"
Girl B; "Yeahh"
Girl A; "Do you know her?"
Girl B; "Nope, but Im kinda in love with her clothes."
Girl A; "Ahaa, I know right. Shes pretty, too. Shes looks like she could be an indie girl, yaknow."
Girl B; "Yeah. Wanna go talk to her?"
Girl A; "Yeah, she seems cool."

a chill person that usually has lots of layers in their hair
and dresses vintagey and is original and creative usually artsy
has a wide vocabulary and is pretty happy person and has a lot of goals going for them
listens to tons of bands you never heard of which is part of them being original
has good comebacks and may be shy in a cute way
hasn't had many lovers because they come off as too good for people

The term used to describe one of the worlds most spectacular car races... well, it used to be spectacular. But now due to the downfall in american open wheel racing, this race has lost its previous heritage and prestigue. and there is only one man to blame this on, Indianapolous Motor Speedway owner and IndyRacingLeague Founder Tony George
the indy 500? meh, thats not special anymore, id rather watch the champcar race in monterrey mexico, or a race involving cockroaches at the local bar...
