a poser store, nonetheless. It attempts to sell the "punk look" which is stupid, mainly because there is no "punk look" and the "punk look" they try to sell is the bastardized punk look from bands from the sex pistols and onward. If you shop there and give them the sales, then you are giving in to the fucks and are a poser.
poser: "Im being myself by shopping here"
me: "no you arent you're giving into corporate america and even if youre buying bands that are good you're still a poser for giving into a place that gives a wrong idea of what punk is."

A store that sells clothing and accessories for those not inclined to shop at places like Abercrombie and Fitch or Hollister. They sell a bit darker variety of items, all of which are just as over-priced as before-mentioned retailers.
Gothic Girl #1: Eww..look at all those preppies coming out of A & F with their 20$ T-Shirts and $80 jeans.
Gothic Girl #2: I know! We'll never be as stupid as them. Now let's go shop at Hot Topic!

Goth topic is a term used by preps and everyone else who has, for whatever personal reasons hate all those who do there own things. Any real goth who does it not for attention but because its what they feel like doing. This doesn't mean that goths dislike all non goths, just those who are preppy or gangster or any "clique" who act or dress that why, not because its who they want to be, but because its what they think other people will like. People can be preppy or gangster and still be doing what they want and be acceptable to goths. The poser goths do it for attention. I have yet to meet a goth who is actuually afraid of sunlight. And we dress how with what we think will look cool. And if a preppy person likes a shirt and decides to be happy wearing it, so what? Provided they don't hurt anyone else, everybody has a right to be happy.

A store that sells clothing, make up, jewelry, gifts, trinkets that sorta thing. Its a pretty good store but for some people who think they are being "different" shopping there is complete crap becuase some, i'm not saying all, SOME people who shop there think going to hollister and AE is so much different people everything is overpriced. o__o; Its basically the same prices, its just hot topic clothes don't ahve that li bird on it and there clothes don't really fit the "rock/punk" style. -___-
