In aviation, pilots routinely use what are called ‘V Speeds’ as airspeed references. An example, and routinely heard V speed, is Vr which is rotation speed during takeoff. There are dozens. Vx is the V Speed for Best Angle of Climb. It is also used to denote a flight where the ENTIRE crew of a flight is female. Vx denotes this because of every woman has two X chromosomes.
