Rick Rolling is commonly thought of as linking a friend, who thinks they are getting something desirable, to a video of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up", though this is not always the case. A Rick Roll may be amplified by having the window fly around your screen and, upon closure, release a stream of popups (usually displaying the lyrics) that will open as you close the previous, as seen at raygoldmodels.com. These can be humorous to witness over the shoulder, as well as to have an email response to.
Man, after I Rick Rolled my friend, he was super duper pissed off at me.
I like to close the popups as their respective lyrics end whenever I get Rick Rolled.

A term that refers to a quote from season 3 of the Adult Swim show Rick and Morty in which Rick (a main character) turns himself into a pickle. You may find that those who use this quote usually repeat it nonsensically multiple times without realizing how cancer it is. These types of people should usually be avoided at all costs.

Rick james was a hit in the 80's, his song was later stolen by the great MC hammer. He did jail time for some funny things including, burning a female with a crack pipe.

Originally, to trick someone into watching the extremely catchy "Never Gonna Give You Up" music video by the genius Rick Astley with a fake link (usually with the promise of an exclusive video).
Now used in a more general sense, for any sort of deception or trick.
"I asked for the newest Halo trailer and all I got was the Rickroll video."
"I really hope that J.K. Rowling hasn't rick rolled us with all this Dumbledore business. I would be so disappointed."
