faux-mo

When a generation lacking any clear, unique identity attempts (in inconsistant, questionably sincere and argueably futile ways) to label and define itself and/or it's cultural elements. This is generally characterized by a sort of quiet desperation, thinly veiled hostility and confusion.

Related to but not synonymous with post-moderism aka "po-mo."

Excessive use of labels such as "emo" and "goth" is very faux-mo.

Faux-Intellectual

n. A person, usually male, that believes that they are intellectually gifted, making them superior to their perceived competition inherently. What makes them so unique (and unpleasant...) is their outspoken manner of self-righteousness. Most examples, to give the reader an application of the term, respond to outrage headlines with utmost skepticism, and will bother the poster for facts to prove to the faux-intellectual that it isn't actually fake. Faux-intellectuals almost always behave as if they are above impassioned impulse reactions - when, in reality, such reactions are normal. Ironically, as an aside, most faux-intellectuals respond rather defensively and abrasively to being called out.

"Terry spent a good four hours last night picking apart the new GoT season and talking down anybody that interjected."
"He's a faux-intellectual. He needs to admire the sound of his own voice at least six times a day, else he's liable to combust."

Faux pas

Commonly mispronounced as foh' paw, the term faux pas should be spoken as (fucks pass').

Meaning to fuck up in a past since yet placed in the current passage of timing.

An externally viewed afterthought to a fashion mistake or similar mishap which appears undesirable.

One neighbor says to another "Get your faux pas dog off my lawn. It's annoying that it humps my yard each time it walks by."

As John walked past his co-workers, they commented that he looked better compared to his faux pas earlier when he had fucked up and buttoned his top shirt button.

faux mo

the hairstyle that consists of having a fake mohawk, not shaved all the way on the sides, with it blending into a slight mohawk. Aging old punks get them when they have made money and retire early.

Robbi williams has one

That hair cut is so faux mo, he should be sporting a real one if he wants to be hardcore!
