abercrombie and fitch

the short version is obviously that abercrombie and fitch is a clothing company. it's hard not to be objective when i speak of this company because of personal beliefs that i have on certain issues. one reason i have for my dislike of a+f is their idea of advertising. i do not personally choose to support a company that sells their clothes by showcasing 90% naked men and women who often are engaging in sexual and homosexual acts. additionally, i find it ridiculous to shop there because of their over-priced, low-quality material, but you cannot fault them for charging a lot when people are willing to pay a lot. it's also ironic that the people who point out this over-pricedness are the same people that wear converses that cost 3 dollars to make including labor cost and pay 45 dollars for them because of the big star on the side of them.

i am not providing an example to avoid a stereotypical "i wear abercrombie and fitch and i am gay!" situation.

Abercrombie and Fitch

A stupid store where preps shop for brightly colored shirts and miniskirts so short that their butts aren't completely covered. emos hate this store and are their polar opposite.

Prep: OMG I got some skimpy slutty stuff at Abercrombie and Fitch yesterday
Normal person: We don't give a fuck.

Abercrombie and fitch

Okay this needs a good definition. For starters the clothes aren't even close to expensive, however they are overpriced. Also they aren't preppy what so ever. So if you go there and think you are awesome, preppy, or rich you are wrong.

1. You are not awesome because you like to fit in with everyone else
2. Preppy is NOT tight fitting clothes that are poorly made and have words written all over it. Preppy is lacoste, vineyard vines, jcrew, raulph lauren, sperry top sider. Sorry to ruin it for you but you are the opposite of a prep.
3. Abercrombie is a VERY cheap brand. The reason anyone would think it is expensive is because you havnt seen the prices at vineyard vines, lacoste etc.

Kid 1: I'm so rich and preppy because I spend all my money on abercrombie and fitch clothes! I even spent 30 dollars for a shirt!
Kid 2: really? I just spent 80 dollars on a polo from lacoste...
Kid 1: oh.

abercrombie and fitch

For all those people who think they're elite or "rich" because they wear abercrombie you're acting like real idiots. Now before you start insulting me saying I'm just jelous because I can't afford it I wear brands with real class like Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, and Brooks Brothers. And if you've ever been outside your abercrombie store and walked around the rest of the mall those stores happen to be much more expensive and have true class and history behind them. Unlike abercrombie that sells paper thin clothing that's only difference from something you'll find at target is huge letters scrawled on the shirt saying abercrombie. And for people who shop at hot topic and other stores like that stop calling them "preps" because in my vacabulary a prep is someone who attended preparatory school and has true class and for them to but something from abercrombie would go against their morals for such clothes are degrading and embarrassing. The only reason I bothered to write this is because I'm tired of these cliques that give you dirty glares if you're not wearing abercrombie or hot topic.

Abercrombie and fitch girl: OMG!!!!!!!! I'm soooooo cool because I wear cheap-ass clothing that should be even cheaper (if that's possible)

prep: um... you should try a store that shows clothes that covers more then a quater of your body

AG: that's a good idea, anyways the only people who shop at AF are sluts

Abercrombie & Fitch

An American lifestyle brand aimed at those aged 18โ€“22, Abercrombie & Fitch (often shortened to Abercrombie) has over 300 locations in the U.S. due to its extreme popularity.

It operates under a theme of outdoor adventure. For example, the "canoe store" look, and outdoorsy photos employ this tactic. Always in grayscale, Abercrombie & Fitch idealizes the fit, young, and sexy, making use of near-pornagraphic photos โ€” a tactic which has governed controversy. Electronic dance music is played at sometimes 90 decibels, and lighting is always dim in-store.

Abercrombie & Fitch markets itself as an upscale retailer, after opening its Flagship store on Fitfh Avenue. The use of high-grade materials and "body conscious" clothing have spawned the slogan "Casual Luxury," which is reflected in the clothing style and its prices.

Other divisions of Abercrombie & Fitch include:

abercrombie: The children's brand of Abercrombie & Fitch, aimed at those aged 7โ€“14.

Hollister Co.: The Southern California-themed brand, aimed at those aged 14โ€“18.

Gilly Hicks: The Sydney, Australia-themed brand, specializing in women's underwear, aimed at those aged 18 and up.

Ruehl No.925: The post-collegiate brand, aimed at those 22โ€“35. Now defunct due to poor sales.

Abercrombie & Fitch's slogan is 'Casual Luxury.

Abercrombie & Fitch use high-grade materials in their clothing, which makes it more expensive than your run-of-the-mill brand.

Often a subject of criticism and controversy, Abercrombie & Fitch have exploded in popularity.
