Plastic Patriot

An American man/woman who complains about the negative actions of others that have no impact on their lives.

"Did you hear Joe Bob bitching about Kaepernick and Reid kneeling before the game on Sunday?"
"Yeah, guess he doesn't know why they're kneeling in the first place. Such a plastic patriot."

plastic, not fantastic

A phrase meaning one or many are superficial or deceitful of their own characters, especially those who are rich or pretend they are better than others.

On Bravo's Real Housewives of Washington, D.C., Housewife, Catherine "Cat" Ommanney coined this phrase when addressing another Housewife, Michaele Salahi, and her husband, Tareq Salahi, during a confrontation at Housewife, Stacy Scott Turner's and her husband, Jason Turner's, home.

Stacy: "Are you still upset about what happened?"

Cat: "They're ruining other people's lives, you know. It's madness. They're 'plastic, not fantastic.'"

plastic fan

The term 'plastic fan' is a phase that has been coined across the last 15 years or so to describe those people who follow a team without any real affinity to the club in question. An example of this is Matthew Bentley.

Matthew Bentley is a plastic fan because he supports Chelsea although he's never been to a Chelsea home game.

plastic hottie

A plastic hottie is a girl who is hot because she had plastic surgery. Without such surgery, she'd probably look busted.

I'd take my eyes, my nose, my smile, and my hair (all that I was born with) over any plastic hottie any day.

plastic paddy

An Irish American who is glorified by the people of Ireland, even though many look down at Irish Americans showing extreme pride and interest in Ireland's history and culture.

If the Irish don't like Irish Americans having intense pride in their land, why is JFK's ancestral home a national monument?

American Tourist: "Hey I saw a sign for Andrew Jackson's cottage." US Tourist #2: "That name sounds familiar..."

I'm an American but I like hurling. It's pretty dirty. You fellas across the pond should check out lacrosse.

I reversed this term to point out some hypocrisy.

There's an Irish heritage regiment (with plastic paddys) in the US National Guard called the Fighting 69th; its motto: "Gentle when stroked, fierce when provoked." LOL at dirty connotations.
