Paradox of Freedom of Speech

The Paradox of Freedom of Speech or Paradox of Free Speech states that if a society has unrestricted freedom of speech, its ability to have unrestricted freedom of speech is going to normalize prejudices, discrimination and hate speech and eventually being seized or destroyed by the prejudiced, intolerants and discriminatory people. This paradox is considered an evolution of the Paradox of Tolerance, and it is used mainly for study how mass media, internet and videogames actually normalize prejudices, discriminations and hate speech.

"An example about how the Paradox of Freedom of Speech actually works is that Trump got his Twitter account deleted, it opens the discussion about the paradox of freedom of speech and the paradox of tolerance, both together as one."

"It's a big issue to discuss about the paradox of freedom of speech, since we cannot control hate speech, prejudices, discriminations and intolerances that easy, it would be necessary more deep studies about how to fight those without become absolutist or something like that."

Love Shy Paradox

The Love Shy Paradox is when a person will actively proclaim their want to be in a relationship but will never actually ask someone out. Scientists have been baffled by this phenomenon for centuries.

Friend 1: โ€œIdk why Aiden keeps complaining about not having a gf if he wonโ€™t try and talk to a girlโ€

Friend 2: โ€œIts a classic case of the Love Shy Paradoxโ€

The Growing Pains Paradox

This is when you find yourself staying up late to do something that seems like a good idea at the time, but you regret it in the morning. Most commonly this occurs during television watching.

Commedian Jim Gaffigan has brought this issue to light during his stand up routines. In particular, Gaffigan goes into detail about staying up late to watch a Growing Pains marathon. This seems like a great idea at the time, but upon waking up...Growing Pains wasn't such a good idea afterall.

So essentially The Growing Pains Paradox is staying up late for anything that seems like a good idea in the evening. However, due to the lack of sleep you regret the decision in the morning.

"Uggh, why did I stay up last night watching a marathon of Ninja Warrior? I hate The Growing Pains Paradox!"

Genius Failure Paradox

Basically a common social disorder in which a person (most likely male) is extremely detatched from the rest of society, due to their beliefs that they are smarter/richer/genrally better than everybody else. They tend to be detatched because they feel that getting help and in
some extreme cases even talking to somebody with less assets than them is below them. People with GPF tend to live
very lonely lives. See hubris, loser.

Ted Kaszinski (the UNABOMBER) is one noted
example of someone with GPF.

puffed pastry paradox

This occurs every time something that looks so delicious, so attractive on the surface turns out to be tasteless and bland when tasted. Based on the common experience from eating French pastries.

Dropping a C-note at a disappointing fancy restaurant is an experience of the Puffed Pastry Paradox.

Social Accessibility Paradox

A social paradox wherein the population becomes deceived into thinking that by pressing a โ€œlikeโ€ or a โ€œshareโ€ they are physically contributing to change when in fact nothing is changing with the exception of a further increase of awareness of that topic.

Also known as:
โ€œEase of accessibility paradoxโ€ - fueled by apathy, laziness & the ability to press like or share & feel as if theyโ€™ve contributed to any change.

It was due to a social accessibility paradox that important issues were never resolved as the actions of so many resolved in the inaction of all.
