The Dundee dialect was formed in the loud jute mills of the Victorian-era 19th century. The I's are turned into an 'eh' sound, so I'm becomes Ehm. This is unique and peculiar to Dundee. The phrase and song "dee til eh deh" uses local Dundonian dialect words (spelt phonetically) and is used by Dundee FC fans to express their support. It is also found on the back of the current Dundee FC 23-24 season SPFL home shirt.

How to use?
A new word for bro, man, dude. Eh-Mawun can be used at the start or end when speaking and is used in mainly friendly greetings, stories, and other forms of conversation. If used right then it can add more meaning to you and others conversation. Eh-Mawun / Eehmauwn will sound extremely out of place in challenging or aggressive tones so it is best suited in friendly conversation.
Pronunciation:
It can be just typed as Eh-Man and is said very fast. The "u" and "w" is added in the man since its supposed to be pronounced with a accent. Kind like Mawn (find on "how to pronounce" website) but combine the "o" and "u" noise (American English) in right as you start saying the word ("Ma" part) and say it quickly when going to the "w" sound.
The word sounds British or Australian most of the time when spoken (🇬🇧/🇦🇺)
