Typically derogatory, a diet relationship has one or both parties only interested in short-term, casual interactions; no strings attached, no accountability, and no responsibility, but still wants to label it as a relationship.
Coined in the Pacific Northwest, it has quickly spread among the Seattle hip-hop community and Tacoma party scene.

Diet weed, also known as Delta 8, is THC that is derived from hemp rather than marijuana. It still produces a high, but one that is not as potent as regular weed.
You can buy it, as well as Delta 8 edibles, at smoke shops—including in states where marijuana is illegal, which is where most of its appeal comes from.
