..black, or blonde, or neoned (most common) examples: hot pink, turquoise, orange... etc.
..CHOPPY! use a ton of hairspray to help show those layers
..bangs usually cover one to one and a half of eyes
..bows are a must have, usually big, but small clipons work too.
*makeup
..caked on eyeliner, usually in color, blue, purple, pink, black also works
..glitter anywhere on the face or body
..not much concealer, but some
..very bright eyeshadow
*clothing
..a band tshirt is most common {{youre a scene kid, go to concerts, even if you dont like or know the band.. if you dont like music in general, maybe you should look into being something else}} also any brightly colored animal print shirts for example: a pink leopard print shirt
..very skinny jeans, the skinnier the better in colors grey and dark blue
..some shoes that work: vans slipons, converse high tops (better) and low tops, ballet flats

..get used to saying words like "rad", "stellar", "rawwrrr", "your (or blank is) the sex", "kiiidd", etc.
..use periods (.) as much as you can (ps. look at my name)

..a bandana--uses for tying around the neck, tying in the hair (folded), or one corner tucked in your back pocket

..yes, you do have to wear makeup. somewhat thick black eyeliner but suitable

Basically, emo kids that don't admit to being emo.
Not surprisingly, they look pretty much the same as emo kids, but with more childish things than "darker" things.

"Oh, crap. Brian and Heather think I'm emo!"
"Shit! Uhm...just say that you're scene."
"That's...that's just brilliant enough to work. Quick, we must change our screennames to cuntx_____bangdeath and steal shirts from our little siblings!"

1.) n. A subculture, group, or clique of people and often the music used to identify them. Can be anything, really. Punk, hardcore, alternative, indie, etc. The term is often used to generalize the people, bands, and hangout locales of the group.

2.) adj. A way to mock or insult someone who tries too hard to dress in the style of whatever "scene" or subculture they identify with. Having the title "scenester" didn't used to be a desirable thing. Almost like being called a "poser," or being accused of being superficial. Other terms commonly used are "scenefag" or "sceneslut."

3.) adj. As time wore on, a predominant "scene" emerged of androgynous boys and girls with asymmetrical hair cuts, tight jeans, and loud, neon colored hoodies and DIY shirts. They adopted the title "scene" to describe themselves, similar to the way some gays and lesbians have adopted the words "fag" and "dyke" in an attempt to remove the negative connotation.

1.) "Hey man, let's start a band to prove we're down for the scene" or "This indie rock scene fuckin sucks, let's go downtown and kick it with the punks"

2.) "Look at that fuckin' scenester, he thinks he's so damn hip. What a tool."

3.) "OMG Kaylie, that polka dot ribbon and neon green shirt with the dinos is like, SO scene! XOXO"

Scene kids are more into the fashion and wear tons and tons of makeup but are more able to rock bright colors or patterns, weird hair, etc. Emo kids more fade into the background and scene kids are more crazy. They want to stand out. they will also not be ashamed to say they listen to hip hop sometimes. They will jump around at shows, while the emos fold their arms in the back. Emo kids are sad that they don't fit in, and scene kids don't really think about it. That would take valuable time away from taking pictures of themselves with their new purple tights.

man... that girl is just so scenery, i can't handle it.
