Scene Kids

Think of a scene kidd, only tring to set a neww trend the the other sceneiez don't follow. When you are scene you have the specific style and your taste in music and attitude can be whateven it is. Only your doing what makes you different. It really doesn't matter because When it comes down to it, you are labled like everone else even if you don't want to be kay bbydollface?Psst... get over the lable shyt. PEOPLE LABLE OTHER PEOPLE! As a side note: Not every scene kidd has to have piercings in the same places and dye their hair w/ neon colors! Some people are totally against it and are STILL labled as a sceneie. some people would like too go too shows, but can't afford to go to every show their fave bands make. And some people would like too keep their hair healthy and i dunno bbydollface, NOT BURNT AND DAMEGED in like a matter of 2 yrs. Godd, sorry if I insulted anyone, but being scene is being individule, and to be that, you follow the guidelines and add in what the phuck makes you who you are. So there.

That's fucking scene kid!

A term used when "that's gay" isn't enough. It's like saying "That's the fucking stupidest thing ever." because that's exactly what scene kids are.

Marcos: My mom won't let me go to the movies.
Emily: Damn, that's fucking scene kid!
Marcos: Yeah, she's fucking scene kid.
Emily: I fucking hate scene kids.

Scene Kid [2009-?]

So I kinda-sorta felt obligated to represent the "Scene" (I'd do it regardless though) for this day, and age, due to all the outdate entries here on urban dictionary. First off you shouldn't be reading entries on Urban Dictionary on how to be scene (because then you'd be trying to fit in), but if you're going to you might as well read a correct and/or accurate entry right? I mean some of the entries you're reading are as old as 2005 (hence: almost 5 years ago). So yeah an update is well needed.

HAIR:
I donโ€™t think that the hairstyle, back in 2005, really applies anymore. So, imo, I suggest having/creating your own unique hairstyle or trying one of the other variety of hairstyles invented already (fact: itโ€™s 76 of them) because then you wonโ€™t seem like a generic "old" scene kid. Dying your hair one bright color would also be pretty fly to, but w/e. Oh, btw, coontails are "out". Sorry Kiki Kannibal, youโ€™re a has-been again.

FACE:
Eh. Iโ€™d like to say you MUST have piercings, but itโ€™s not really needed. If you do decided to get them, though, try to get something thatโ€™s not used all the time. I mean, imo, snakebites are "out" and pretty emo. I suggest getting angelbites. I mean they sound more positive and look hella tight. Maybe a septum too. Gauged Ears. Make-up. Eyeliner/Guyliner. Big Glasses.

BODY:
So the clothes right? Some people say that Scene Kids dress Indie now, but thatโ€™s what they said about Scene Kids dressing Emo. It might be true and it might now. Honestly, imo, Scene is a freedom of expression and pretty much dressing aesthetically. So I say wear what you like. But if generally itโ€™s based around bright colours, make sure your colours are bright. Alright? And as far as being mismatched goes Iโ€™d say thatโ€™s "out" too. Dress in a reasonable manner please. :D Oh, btw, get body art (as in tattoos). Skinny jeans, but make sure they're comfortable and not to tight (health issues). I'd like to say tight shirts as well. Tight V-necks and/or Band Tees. Small Vest. Tight Hoodies. Tight Flannel Shirts. A more sophisticated, yet free-supportive look.

OTHER:
Social networks is a must: Myspace, Facebook, Stickam, Buzznet, etc. Photoshop to retouch those pictures. Not so childish, but still a hella cute side. And pretty much anything else you'd like to input.

Overall you all need to remember that Scene has become more then just a trend. It's a subculture and a lifestyle for some people and when you go and tarnish it...well it makes everything much worst and brings upon nasty stereotypes. The old scene is dead and gone. Please leave it that way.

xoxo,
Lustrous! <3

British Scene kid

these days, in Britain. scene kids have a more diverse way of dressing.
Some "scene kids" adapt an almost chav way of appearence but keeping the original scene kid hair (black or blonde, some with color, with large bangs and short sides that sweep into their face)
these items of clothing tend to be Trackies as not all scene kids prefer to wear skinny jeans all the time, but do still wear them.

they liek to wear more expensive makes compared to "chavs" and "emo's" for instance Adidas orginals which tend to be ยฃ20/$40 more expenesive than adidas singular. and iron fist or dropdead clothing which tend to be more expensive than the well known, over used "criminal damage"- but some still may choose to wear it.

scene kids especially in england are adapting the 80's style, with white reebok hi tops and neon colored tops. this is a slow progress, but still are predominatly dressed in tight clothes.

accesories for boys tend to be:

bandana's, large sunglasses, new era hats, and baggy beanies aka the "sock beanie". snake bites and various other facial peircings, expanded ear lobes etc

Accesories for girls:

all of the above
long gold chains with various large pendants like anchors, hello kitty, superman emblem, rubix cubes etc etc. each tend to fashion there own.

femaile scene kids in britain do not wear bows in there hair, this is because this is cliche and also used by ther close relative's "Emo Kids", but scene kids are very different from these. and are often angered by emo kids stealing there style and can tend to be aggressive towards them.

British scene kids can vary in attitude, alot have adapted the loud, outspoken and cocky attitude, others can be the strong silent type. But like everyone in the world it an vary form person to person.
they can adapt the "gangsta" way of talking, but this is useally a mockery.

Brisish scene kids choice in music is wildly spread out, they can enjoy:

Screamo - bring me the horizon, alexisonfire, still remains,in flames, enter shakari etc
R&b- dizzie rascal, soulja boy, Dillinja, Sean paul, chris brown etc
Techno/trance/hardcore- Dj tiesto, Delerium etc

scene kids are the most outgoing of the "hardcore rock side" this being, goths, greebo's and emo's. they are often found at house partys, gigs (most being amature), rock pubs, public parks etc.

The British scene kid way of style changes rapidly throughout the year as they like to stay as diverse as possible and remain individual and outcast to the emo style.

in Britain the age range of a scene kid tends to be older than the emo's this can be 17+ where as the emo's tend to be the 13-16 year olds.

British scene kid #1: sup blud, goin to the albert tonight? SophieSuicide's bands playin.

British scene kid #2: SICK! sound as, yeh ill be there, got juice?

British scene kid #1: yah, that lad liams trying to come as well, hell get battered.

British scene kid #1: pahaha its lyk go cry emo boy

British scene kid#2: yh lyk go home little brother....

female scene kid

wears lots of eyeliner and mascara only black, pale foundation and concelor, pink or bright green eye shaddow, other colours can work if they are very bright and 'loud'.
tight drainpip jeans preferably black or grey (blue works only on some people). black or bright coloured tops, plain tops can be good, polka dots are good too as are. black or navy blue all stars are good. checkered black and pink or grey and pink vans are the best shoes.
scene kids are not the same as emos. emos prefer very different pass times like poetry. scene kids 'dont do' poetry they prefer going out with friends.
