Someone with very little cognitive skills, and/or a dismembered penis. A very bad gamer. Unlike a noob, a newb is someone who actually want's to get better. But they probably never will.

1) See also newbie. Someone in a game with little to no clue what they are doing. Easily beaten by the vast majority of other players. "That guy's a newb. Doesn't even know how to strafe."
2) Derogatory term for someone you don't like in a game. Often meant as a shot at their skill: "OMG u n00b!"
3) See also camper, lamer, griefer - Term for a veteran player using very cheap tactics, cheats, or other similar methods to kill other experienced players. "N3wb can't win without his AWP."

A term frequently used in paintball for a player new to the game, also known as a newby or newbie, and nooblet (if there young). If the player does not improve within a considerable amount of time then you may refer him/her as a noob.
"Man that guy must be a newb he only has a Tipman 98 custom."

The term Newb started being used in US Navy, by sailors in the Seabees (CBs) rate during World War II. Seabees would call new Seabees NewBees. Navy Veterans like M.E. and others started calling new players on SoCom Newbees, later it was shorted to Newb.
