Chip

Someone who has a chip on his shoulder is angry all the time. They feel that they have been wronged by the world, so they are always ready for a fight. They are easily offended because they feel that they have been treated unfairly by others, or perhaps they feel inferior. They expect trouble, so they are always ready for it.

It can also mean that the person has a grievance about something. Something bad has happened to him, and he might believe it was someone elseโ€™s fault. This kind of person is constantly angry about it that it affects his behaviour. In the personโ€™s mind, he is showing how tough he is.

You can also use have got. You can also add adjectives to describe the size of the chip.

"To Have a Chip on One's Shoulder" - Examples:
I canโ€™t stand working with Bill; heโ€™s got such a massive chip on his shoulder. Heโ€™s so unpleasant.
โ€ฆKeira Knightley has admitted that forsaking university in favour of a film career has left her with a โ€œchip on her shoulderโ€ over her lack of education. . . . She now battles to prove to herself โ€“ and those around her โ€“ that she has brains.
Excerpt from The Telegraph - U.K.
Success never made that chip on his shoulder go away.

James โ€œSawyerโ€ Ford - a character on the TV show LOST- started as the classic rogue with a shady past who parades around with a constant chip on his shoulder.

Chip

Chip is the name of a really sensitive guy who used to be fat, but is now hot as fuck. Sometimes he likes to be called Daddy, which is kinda weird, but he's cheap so all his friends respect it. He usually is tall, dark, and handsome. Also, he cannot be a Chip unless he sports a nice beard that highlights his jawline. He wears beaded bracelets, usually wooden. Anyone that knows a Chip is lucky. He is a really nice friend, but sometimes he gets a little sad which is difficult to support for his friends emotionally. Really though, he's a great guy. You should definitely want your daughter to date a Chip. He was a YouTuber in middle school, but now gets all the ladies. Man, I wish a was Chip. Go Chip!

All the girls love Chip, but he's humble and pretends he's not good enough. Man, I love my boy Chip.
