Autism is a neurodevelopment disorder which inhibits mental difficulties of social and communication skills. Autism covers a broad spectrum of different kinds of disorders, including ADHD ADD and Asperger's Syndrome . Autism is not a disease, but it can be passed on to future generations genetically. Note: A common misconception about Autism is when people automatically affiliate it with things such as mental retardation or Down Syndrome, in which no they are not the same kind of disorder.
Unrelated note: A lot of people in this community apparently want to constantly remind you that autism is not an insult. Any word or term used to mildy or aggressively offend someone is an insult. Take this from a person who has high-functioning Asperger's. And I don't want to be rude but bringing your own personal life into the meaning of a definition is generally a wrong-doing of giving information, nobody came here to hear about yourself, sorry.

Favourable traits can include:
-Higher level of intelligence
-Great levels of determination
-Strong sense of uniqueness/resilient to influence by the masses
It is thrown around as an insult by small minds on Minecraft servers and many other games. It's quite funny to consider they are shunning the existence of what gave them Minecraft & the thing they play Minecraft on, a true 200 IQ play my special Ed NT friend.
Calling things or people this without any real understanding of the term makes you look like a bigger retard than we could ever hope to be, please stop for your own sake.

A learning disorder that some people get from a family (thereโs a lot of people in the world that donโt know there autistic until they know for themselves) there also could be people that are non-verbal and other stuff as well

With different degrees of severity, it may range from mild social disfunctions to complete lack of speach, comprehension, etc. Usually pair with this problem is often a very exceptional gift such as extraordinary math or memorization skills. NOT THE SAME AS RETARDED.

Autism is a developmental disorder which happens while development. It is not a disorder that can be cured, or needs to be cured, as autistic people are completely ok!
Autistic people can be smart. Autistic people usually are introverted, and they dont like talking to others, and may hide in a secret spot that they like.
Iโm autistic, and iโm apparently smartโฆ iโm also apparently 100% introverted! but thats ok, iโll still be talking to others on the internet.
