Social Media Stalker

A new twist on those who obsessively follow someone who is not interested in a relationship. Wherever the victim goes and whatever the victim does in the world of social media, the Social Media Stalker is there.

Jadine: He comments on every Facebook status update, photo, and post. And now he's on Twitter, obsessively responding to my every Tweet. I know he'll find me on MySpace any day now. HELLO: I am NOT interested, dude.

Serena: Sounds like you've got more than just a facebook stalker. Sounds like a full-out Social Media Stalker.

Social Media

1. A place where people should be accepted the way they are instead of being told they aren't good enough
2. Apps that are designed to bring people together and bond, but do the exact opposite.

I was scrolling thru social media yesterday, this page convinced me to pop some pills and starve myself so i can be featured on their page.

anti social media

Anti social media is the reduction of face to face communication from using social media. Generations X-Z generally prefer anti social media to actual personal interaction and share everything in life on line ad nauseum. Do I really need to see a jpeg of your latest meal? Or your kid at the pool? Or your buddy passed out after he shit himself?

In clear violation of anti social media etiquette, after months of tweeting and facebooking Steve and Oliva finally got together for coffee. Both ran to the restroom to unfollow and unfriend one another.

Social Media Graduation

Social media graduation has several definitions. When someone has evolved past the need for social media. This is often due to factors such as financial stability within the majority of the population. Occasionally this happens towards the end of Rumspringa as a last chance to party before going offline permanently (or at the least, no longer using social media). Social media graduation also happens due to factors of age, and having outgrown social media in some form, even if graduate decides to continue to use other social media. When social media graduation happens, online & offline celebrations are common, often happening at the same time. Strictly offline celebrations are common as well. This sort of event can cause paradoxical feelings of intense joy, sadness, loss of friendships, and strengthening of existing ones. It can be as important to some people as a high school, college or university graduation, depending on their background & culture.

Synonymous terms include, but are not limited to: Social networking graduation, insert website and / or app here graduation, internet graduation, social media retirement. This is not that same as quitting social media out of frustration, or a social media break.

example 1: the young man's social media graduation party before returning to The Amish Community was a welcome one. All of his new friends had a chance to say proper goodbyes, and plans to visit him & his community were made.

Example 2: Having outgrown the app, and wanting an excuse to have fun, the young lady threw a TikTok graduation party complete with a shocking ceremony to keep her legendary status.

Example 3: Being too busy for Facebook, they graduated from social media. They exchanged phone numbers, and mentioned their frequent hangouts to friends. They had a few drinks to celebrate with coworkers on a lunch break.

Example 4: Due to factors of aging, but wanting to quit social media, we threw a social media graduation party for our grandmother instead. She was much happier this was, and loved ones were more understanding.
