A scenester is someone who does their hair in some pretty cool ways, dresses in tight clothes, and participates in the local music scene, either by being in a band, supporting a band, or going to local shows a lot. They have respect for others and tend to be really nice people, as opposed to scene kids, who just try their hardest to be amazing, but inevitably fail.
"Hey guys! Let's gather up the other scenesters and head over to that local band's show tomorrow night! I love seeing a good show." "Yeah, but... Hopefully no scene kids will be there..."

okay, I usually want to make my definitions pretty unbiased (if that's even a word). In the case of the word scene, though, I do not feel like I am being biased when I define it the way I do because I feel like being scene is, overall, a pretty negative thing. Anyway...
Scenester: A person who is scene, obviously. The basic goal of a scenester is to be non-conformist, and in order to do that, they conform to the scene style. In other words, they are a complete and utter poser. Typical scene style and behavior consists of:
-short, choppy, black hair (this is a must for males and females), often with a stripe or chunk of an unnatural color or bleach.
-band shirts, generally emo bands
-skinny jeans for girls, girls jeans for guys
-Converses or Vans
-bright colors paired with black
-polka dots
-dinosaurs, robots, or other kiddyish fantasy-type ideas
-girly ribbons for girls
-Myspace account, with tons of pouty pictures at weird angles
-typing (and often talking) with weird phrases, like HARDXCORE, KTHNXBAI, and others
The number one trick to being scene, though, is to deny that you are scene, because even though you know you are, you're supposed to think labels are for soup cans.
Scenester: Hey, look at my new polka-dot dinosaur t-shirt and hair that I cut myself last night while blindfolded! I am so hardxcore.
Normal Person: You're such a scene poser, go a away.
Scenester: I am SO not! Besides, labels are for soup cans. kthnxbai.

stupid kids (generally indy types or emo children) who hang around in what they percieve to be cool hang outs, normally underage, and who claim to have been into the music and the whole actual life forever when really they got it from the NME last week.
I fucking hate scenesters
Look at those scenesters arent they too young to be here?
Why do scenesters have to pretend to be so cool?
Kid: Ive been into indy way longer than you!
Possibly me: Whats your faviourite band atm?
Kid: Kooks.
Me: Enough said.

One of those kids that has an emo haircut and looks/acts just like an emo kid , but thinks way higher of themselfs. They obsess over robots , ninjas , pirates , mix tapes , and pistols & any kind of art that involves any of those. They are the annoying snobby preps of the alternative kids.
Scenester talk: "So I started this new band , we just came up with the name: 'June in November'. Like , how do you like it?"

Boy or girl usually 13 to 20 who exhibits some of the following traits:
1. Wears tight jeans, random shirts, multicolored converse or checkered shoes without laces, hoodies with zippers that are too small, vests,or any other random article of clothing which they think will make people think they are original
2. Usually kids who dont think they fit into what they call the mainstream although they may focus on certain scenes like emo, punk, pop, ska etc.genres of music
3. Usually liberal or openminded which probably made them scene in the first place
4. Usually likes, japanese things, unheard of bands, anime, dinosaurs, 80's things, multi-colored things, but most of all random things!
5. Scenesters are usually those kids who you can group together but can never really figure out what they have in common
The group I just defined is only an observation of what I have seen and heard and may differ as to what you may observe in real life. However scenesters can be grouped together and the sterotype that surrounds them may be made fun of.
I went to Bamboozled!
Lets go to hot topic.
We're going to see Echo Movement.
I love those tight jeans and those converse and that tight fitting but way too small scenester hoodie with the zipper.

A person you can typically find on myspace, having over 1000 friends (95% of who they don't know), have a fancy HTML layout and have all kinds of weird angled pictures. They also tend to wear bandannas, tight jeans, small shirts that don't fit them (usually band T's), band hoodies, and obscene makeup. Most of these individuals want to feel "cool" and want to fit into the latest scene. The men scenesters seem to be a little too friendly and seem to embrace the gay culture, but still calling themselves straight. There also seems to be the handfull of the overweight scenesters that need to just die. You don't look good. =/
Hey Josh, look at all those scenesters in their corner! They're so cool. /idol
