You can see how it benefits Tonya Harding to have friends that will intervene in disputes between her and other people, but it's hard to see how any of these folks she calls friends benefit any from the relationship, or being known as Tonya Harding's friends. It seems like you'd be guilty by association if you had ties to Tonya Harding, and eople knew about it.
The people that were called Tonya Harding's friends didn't seem too thrilled about the label.
Tonya Harding didn't seem like a physically fragile person on the outside, and she took advantage of the weaknesses, insecurities, and fears of others to keep a tough image going, but her heart was made of glass and couldn't take rejection (especially not by the opposite sex, as the person she hated most wasn't of her own sex) because it was soft. A person can change their exterior to where they look tougher than they were as a kid, but you can't change what is in a person's heart.
Tonya Harding seems too tough to be true because when you look at the whole person and get past the don't underestimate her physically bullshit (which most people don't underestimate her) , she really is. She lives like a coward, and always has.
Someone that had more than one adversary (someone that stood up against/opposed her) in life to end up either mysteriously getting killed, or mysteriously getting injured, despite not having any direct involvement in the events.
For someone who was not involved directly in any of the incidents, people that weren't on Tonya Harding's side sure did have some bad things happen to them.
Some would follow her to the depths of darkness and even the Fourth Reich.

The girl with the serious looking/sounding defense mechanism (the one that kept the world from finding out that she was actually a soft, spiritual person at heart).
Even Tonya Harding's character looked/sounded a little too serious to be true at the more comedic points in the movie portraying her.
A fun, loving, and caring ball of love. She is a woman that everyone wants because she’s Independant and a badass that will fuck yo ass up. The weird twist is she is only able to date people named deklan, weird.
Man: “woah is that your girl, Tonya?”
Friend: “yea”
Man:” damn I wish I had a girl like Tonya”
Friend: “ well your mom should’ve named you deklan, bitch ass loser.”
Tonya W: a person who is independent and a badass woman
