A sound you make when you don’t want to do something but your parents tell you to do it anyways
Mom: Go clean your room
Kid: *groans*
Mom: What did you just say to make?
Kid: Oh shi-
The groans one emits when seeing or thinking about a desirable meat.
Person 1: Mmm, bacon.
Person 2: Dude, now is not the time to be letting out meat groans. We're at a funeral!
A reassuring groan and/or sentence used to show the audience that a character survived something they clearly shouldn't have. This is usually done to appease the censors and ensure the rating isn't artificially jacked up as a result. The term was originally coined by moderately popular cartoon reviewer "Overanalyzing Avatar".
There it is again, that stupid Nickelodeon Groan.
