When someone else's New Years Resolution unfortunately involves you.
Mary: "Jim wants to meet up with me. His You Years Resolution is get in touch with all of his old friends."
Linda: "When was the last time you called him?"
Mary: "Like 6 years! And there is a reason for that!"
Jane: "Kathy took me to the gym today."
Joe: "To the gym? You've never been to the gym!
Jane: "I know. Her You Years Resolution is to lose 25 pounds so she bought us both gym memberships. I hate the gym!"
A new years resolution that turns into two years because you either forgot about it or are just too lazy to try to do it so you give yourself 2 years instead of one.
Person 1: Hey, didn't you say your new years resolution was to quit smoking?
Person 2: Yeahh, but it's really hard so I'm made it a two years resolution, now, I have some time.
A reachable goal that you don't bother to reach
Friend #1: Why didn't you stop overeating?
Friend #2: It was a new year's resolution
A commitment an individual makes to a positive lifestyle change to coincide with the first day of school -- when daily schedules for both kids and parents tend to become more regular.
There's no way Sarah could avoid lying around and stuffing her face with fatty food during the summer, but she's making a school year's resolution to eat better and exercise.

During first week of the New Year, most people are enthusiastic about their resolutions. After this week, however, their zeal begins to dwindle, and soon they've forgotten all about their resolution. Thus instead of a New Year's resolution, it's a New Week's resolution, seeing as it only lasts a week.
Did you see the line of traffic for the gym?
It's just their New Week's resolutions.
I can't believe how many people in our neighborhood are recycling!

Something you set out to accomplish when the new year comes along. Also highly improbable you will go along with it, but it's the thought which counts.
New Years Resolutions are kind of like when you click the 'I read the terms and conditions'. You know you'll feel semi-guilty by clicking the button even if you didn't actually read so you say "I'll read them next time." You do that with New Years Resolutions. "I promise not to ever gossip again...next year. Did you hear what Ross did with Rachel? BRUH."

Something that you decide to do for an entire year starting on January 1st but end up failing after a month.
