In my personal experiences, a script kiddy is one who goes around to various forums, asking how to hack, w/o any previous experience with computers.

That one annoying kid in high school that doesn't know real code but uses some other dude's software to hack and claims to be some sort of god.
Script Kiddie: "Hey guys check out I hacked the school website."
Normal Person: "All you did was DDoS the website, you script kiddie!"

A woman uses a hammer to put a nail into a board, likewise, a script kiddie uses someone elses software to attempt to hack into a machine. Needless to say, neither require any skill.

A rank in hacking. Script Kiddies tend to use other people's programs/code for their own benifit. Sometimes they tend to claim they made the code. Although these kids can be annoying, within a few years of practise, they can become 1337 |-|4XZ0RZ. Whereas other script kiddies just go off onto their school computers and show off what they have learnt. Taking no interest in the way their so called "Hacking" works.
