A fictional straight couple that has wonderful chemistry and are both so lovely, that it feels like you could fall in love with either of them.
"Jim and Pam are so adorable, they're my bi heaven couple. If were Jim, I would fall in love with Pam, and if I were Pam, I would fall in love with Jim."
A couple (especially of college age) that has settled down and consistently pushes away all of their other friends so they can spend all their time together in a relationship. Often times this happens to close friends, and the relationship can mess up even the tightest of friendships over time.
"Man! Todd and Patricia are such a beached whale couple! Todd turned me down multiple times to go to stardollars with her! He used to be my friend!"
"Friend 1: Todd, why don't you hang out with your bro's anymore?
Todd: I don't have bro time so that I can have hoe time!
Friend 1: But what about that trip we planned? And bro's before hoes?
Todd: What trip?
Friend 1: You know, the trip to New York we've been planning for so long?
Todd: Oh, I'm planning that trip with Patricia. Sorry man!
Friend 1: You're in a beached whale relationship, then. I thought we were friends!
Todd: Yeah I'd rather be with Patricia, and my other friends don't matter to me anymore.
Friend 1: How selfish! Well, let me know if you change your mind. Have a good life!

A baby shower where men are encouraged to attend, usually at the insistance of and with their significant other.
A phrase used to convince men that their attendance at a baby shower is expected or somehow a normal practice.
Note: This orgin of this phrase was traced to "O" magazine. Apparenlty, the author suggested the term's use to force men to attend these traditionally "women only" events during hunting or football season.
Oh honey, come to the baby shower! Look the invite says its a couples baby shower.

Etymology:
From the fact that many cases of mental retardation involves having an abnormal number of chromosomes.
Notes:
Funnily enough, means the same thing as "to have a couple extra chromosomes". "To be short a couple chromosomes" is perhaps a more natural way of expressing the idea as it plays to the human intuition that "more is better" and also because it is very easy to imagine how someone without the normal number of chromosomes could turn out retarded; however, "to have a couple extra chromosomes" may actually be more accurate in most cases. The most common genetic cause for mental retardation is Down's syndrome, which actually involves having more chromosomes than the normal person (a third copy of chromosome 21, to be precise).
