the flying squid, also known as the squidicus mcflyicus, is one that consumes the heads of the unprepared. a mollusk that dwells in the stratosphere, but ocassionly comes down to ground level to feast on human brain. the only natural predator is the atomic pirahana.

The use of the word "squid" is referring to the disgusting nature of squids. These sick bastards produce a a inky mess, that is impossible to clean up, as a "self defense mechanism," but really, they're just assholes.
Correct usage: "I gotta go hit the squid. The dog crapped on the floor"
