Assistant Manager Syndrome

When the assistant manager is more strict or micromanages more than the actual manager as a way to try to prove their worth to corporate. This behavior usually indicates someone being after the store manager position. People with Assistant Manager Syndrome are often condescending due to a distrust in you to execute your job responsibilities properly.

Assistant Manager Syndrome is most prominent after company-wide manager meetings, and the strictness and micromanaging typically retreats to normal levels within a month after these events.

"I've been walking around the sales floor all day and haven't gotten any actual work done."

"Assistant Manager has Assistant Manager Syndrome, it's better to look busy than be busy until it dies down."
