Coined in approx. 1960s-1970s, “Tranny” is a slur referring to a Transgender person.
Within the Trans community, some have reappropriated the term; whereas, some see it as defamatory to the community.
Similarly to “fag” and “dyke”, “tranny” is a LGBTQIA+ slur that has been reclaimed by some in the community.
A beautiful word to call your mom and to your local transgender. Not only will it produce some of the greatest peace within the community, you will also be recognised in the most fashionable manner!
