To openly embarrass someone who forwards a hoax or otherwise lame email to a large group of recipients. Done by replying-all and pointing out the stupidity of it, usually with a link to a debunking article.
"My noob brother sent me the Microsoft email-tracking hoax. I had to e-shame him and sent the Snopes link to everybody on his list."
A Shame Tornado is the feeling of depression that results from a massive drinking excursion. Does not necessarily mean you did anything shameful per say but if you did you probably would not remember. Shame tornadoes are more prevalent when you blackout ( or Time Travel) for any period of time. The older you get the more at risk you are for one of these episodes. They tend to last 24-48 hours after the drinking episode but have in some cases been documented to last as long as 8 days.
Two days after St. Patty's Day and I'm in the eye of a Shame Tornado.
Using the internet and media (even word-of-mouth) to expose hypocrisy in everyday situations to subversively benefit your own agenda (whether personal or organizational).
The Local Newspaper didn't cover the local music event... so, we used a Shame Campaign via tweets and emails to the larger media saying, "our town and its newspaper don't support the arts." The next week, we had a full page spread.
The act of doing something so despicable that the nicest guy in the music industry is disgusted by you.
"Dude the baby on the Nirvana album is suing the band for child porn!"
"After all that money he made? He's totally grohl shaming himself"
When someone who has been affected mentally or psychologically by a trauma, or even a bad upbringing, is criticized for the behavior they display as a result of the trauma, with those criticizing seemingly forgetting, or not knowing the reason behind this behavior. Some may continue to criticize the person with the trauma even when explained the reason, claiming that the trauma doesn't "justify" their behavior. In the case of fictional characters, expect one to call a trauma-stricken character "annoying" for lashing out.
Commenter: "Ugh, just watching Degrassi Junior High right now and Spike is so rude towards Shane! Like why is she like that towards that poor boy?"
Another commenter: "Dude, she literally has an absent father and she got pregnant at 14. Stop trauma shaming.".
When you masturbate to something shameful
Billy was crying while shame fapping to a picture of his mom in a bikini.
The look someone gives you when you to silently inform you of the uncoolness you may accidentally be radiating. They are do so by raining their shame rays down upon you. Shame Rays are usually a silent expression on the face of an onlookers witnessing your public gaucherie, but may be accompanied by a 'wait- what?' and raised eyebrows.
'On Friday when I was drunk, I tried to explain to a bunch of my co-workers what 'Neat Pet Group' is on Facebook and how it fills my newsfeed with pics of cool dogs... and how this video popped up where this dog didn't know how to respond to the command 'get down', so it did all the tricks it knew...and well, then they gave it a treat anyway because that was cute, you know?' Everyone was silent during the build-up to and post- this rather considerable anti-climax. I felt their shame-rays raining down on me as I plowed on through the increasingly staggered and awkward story to the inevitable and disappointing conclusion. So that was my evening.
