Ed Effect

A situation in which a seemingly normal or routine event either works in an unexpected way or not at all. Rarely reproducible, the phenomenon is as fleeting as it is confusing.

The computer crashed every Tuesday morning due to Ed Effect.

Paedophile effect

It's when you see a girl or guy who you know is of legal age and they look hot, but only because they look sweet and innocent like a schoolgirl or schoolboy when in fact they are NOT, that's an effect, when they appear to be younger than they are they look hot.

I wish I could be with that girl, she looks so sweet and innocent
Dude!, she looks like she's 16
It's okay man I know that she's 21
Oh, that must be the paedophile effect everyone's talking about.

Shower Effect

While urinating into a lavatory, the main stream is entering as normal, but a shower like spray diverts and causes particulates of urine to land on the toilet seat. This is usually followed by a rapid wiping of the seat with toilet roll, often masked by the flushing of the toilet itself.

Omg I just shower effected all over the seat. I gotta clean up

The Oki Effect

When waiting for something, asking about when it'll be done or finished, only increases the amount of time you must wait for it.

While asking about the playtest, the players were unaware they were making The Oki Effect creep forward slowly.

the lifehacker effect

It means having too much traffic on a web site due to its link being posted on lifehacker.com as a feature article, sometimes even causing the featured web site to go down.

I just visited the site, but it seems the lifehacker effect took off again!

The Disney Effect

The act of making a bad/horrendous/cop-out-of-a-sequel or prequel to an originally good movie.

Dave: Dude, I heard they were making a sequel to Boondock Saints.

Steve: I hope they don't apply the Disney effect to it.
