uni culture

Common attitude, belief and behavior of university students.

For example; intentionally and indifferently missing out on lectures, postponing tasks, sleeping in class, etc.

"Ugh! I overslept and missed today's lecture. The guilt eats me alive." said Jane
"Hahaha! You just haven't adopted the uni culture yet." replied Karen.

INDIAN CULTURE

Its is India and its cultural heritage that has survived centuries of invasions, abuse and oppression by invaders who molested the rich and beautiful land and still criticize it for not submitting to them by shaming it for being a poor country third world country even if it has contributed so much for society.

This cultural ridiculing and racism and and make Indian people feel bad about being Indian and mock us. We all know what happened to the native Americans for having a different culture they were shamed and forced to do thing like cut their hair to fit norms of the "civilized ".And still there is no native American president and the people dont have a very loud voice of representation even in the modern times and the woke highly developed countries cant provide it for them.
This systemic shaming and erasing of culture, making Indians loathe themselves and anti nationalism is going to be either the end for this ancient culture. A reminder that their so called uneducated, poor, uncivilized ,ancestors have been tortured a lot but have never once been down to the will of outside nations even with such limited resources.

But the question remains will the educated , privileged, intelligent, civilized, brilliant youth will be the fall of Indian culture. And will the those who are disgusted, selflothing and ashamed of this culture their ancestors fought hard to preserve and disappoint their souls.

Indian dude: I hate our festival diwali.

Foreigner: why isn't it like a good thing , festival of lights good over evil and all.

Indian dude: No , I read in Economic Times that it is a festival of fats and oils. It causes pollution because of fire crackers and noise pollution.

Foreigner: But dont you eat vegan food during the festival and continue to eat it throughout the week. Only the sweets are oily and sugary and people only eat it during the festival like cakes on Christmas and mutton biriyaani during Ramadan.

Foreigner: also dont you burst crackers on new years , wedding , Christmas, Ramadan, Eid, etc
Where do you read this stuff anyway?

Indian guy : television, advertisement, twitter, magazine, bollywood, news etc
Foreigner: And you take it like that?

Indian guy: ya cuz Indian culture sucksssss man.

Visual Culture

Visual culture is a field of study within cultural studies focusing on aspects of culture that rely on visual representations. Among cultural studies theorists working with contemporary culture, this often overlaps with film studies and the study of television, although it can also include video game studies, comics, traditional artistic mediums, advertising, and any other medium that has a crucial visual component.

Burger King, MTV, McDonalds and Coca-Cola make up some of our visual culture.

Cancel Culture

Cancel Culture is an internet phenomenon that has emerged due to the internet's highly dogmatic hivemind mentality, where the opinions and attitudes of the public are harmonized into one giant unanimous blob. The said blob will spontaneously accuse and reprimand anyone who rubs them the wrong way, regardless of the individual's true intention. Often, these indicted individuals aren't even aware that what they said could be viewed in a different light, it's only the people that make it seem that way.

For example, take someone who asked "can marijuana make someone as intoxicated as alcohol" on Reddit. The guy who asked it was simply bored, but the people of Reddit took offense, ambiguously assumed that they're asking to take advantage of girls, and begin exposing all their previous posts to further prove the hivemind's unfounded belief. This right here is Cancel Culture in a nutshell.

Though it's easy to single out the "social justice warriors", do not be mistaken. In reality, anyone can co-opt a cancel culture as long as they share the same dogmatic and hypersensitive attitudes of the majority. In fact, the victims of cancel culture could be anyone who has disobeyed a rule or a policy of a group/affiliation/institution.

Essentially, the gist of cancel culture is about the public (and the individuals representing the public) either making accusations about something/someone they absolutely know nothing about, or overinflating a minor and irrelevant issue.

Example 1: People bashing PewDiePie for using the n-word and making satirical jokes about Nazism are proponents of cancel culture.

Example 2: Disney firing James Gunn for his 'offensive' tweets can be attributed to cancel culture.

Example 3: Diana was kicked out of a group chat on Kik because she didn't follow one of their group rules. She wanted to re-establish bona fide connections with one of the group members (Mikayla), but she rejected her and rebuked her just because she broke one of the group rules. Mikayla has just co-opted cancel culture as there was no legitimate reason not to befriend her.

Example 4: Jason sought help on r/FamilyAdvice because his abusive father kept beating his mother and threatening her and Jason. He admitted that he finally had enough and stood up for his mother by throwing a saucepan at his father. As a result of cancel culture, the people of Reddit decided on a whim thatโ€”despite the wickedness of his abusive fatherโ€”Jason was the one that deserved all the blame because he hit him with a saucepan. This is because public opinion on Reddit upholds the traditional belief to always honor your parents no matter what. Thus, because of cancel culture, the true severity of Jason's situation was never taken into light, and his post (and other comments supporting him) were unfortunately downvoted to oblivion.

Cultural Masturbation

When a person who is part of a culture or community identifies so strongly with it that they rarely talk about anything other than how much they love said culture and thus develop tunnel vision and narrow minded behavior.

Example 1: Tyronda's tumblr has over 300 posts about how proud she is to be black and how eminem's music is cultural appropriation. I think she has a cultural masturbation problem.

Example 2: John is always going on and on about the achievements of white people and how many things they've invented even though he hasn't accomplished anything himself. I think he suffers from chronic cultural masturbation.

Cultural Appropriation

Something that white people came up with because they have nothing better to complain about even though minorities like myself literally couldnt care less

Person: (wears something related to another culture)
White social justice warrior: OMG CULTURAL APPROPRIATION

Person from that culture: Oh thatโ€™s nice I like to see other people trying things from my culture in order to break the divide between our cultures
