It contains of 3 things: Tumbling, stunts, ands dance. You will have to be able to do the jumps. There is school cheer and all-star cheer.
Eric: "Does Ally still do cheerleading?"
Cheerleading is one of the hardest SPORTS. It uses lots of muscle and strength and flexibility. Cheerleading also called, cheer, has many parts of it: stunting, tumbling, jumps, and dance. Many people think it isnβt a sport but it is because it is very hard and you should not think that before you have tried it. There are TWO different kinds of cheer, allstar/competitive and, school or non- competitive. Cheerleading is a sport because the definition of sport is:
an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.(from google) and cheerleading does just that. Not just everyone can do cheer, you have to have skill and a mindset, flexibility also is important in cheer. Cheerleading is also competing against another team as in All star, which is the most common type of cheer, so as you can see it fits this definition perfectly.
That team was so good at cheerleading.
That girl must do cheerleading, she looks very strong!

The worlds most dangerous SPORT!!
Cheerleaders don't just cheer on other sports teams, they also compete against other teams. (watch California All-Stars and Top-Gun). Cheerleading is comprised of a cheer portion (in school cheer), jumps, stunts, tumbling, and a dance. If you thought all they did were wave around pom-poms on the sidelines then BOY were you an idiot. The average cheer team practices for 2-3 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. And while football players or basketball players can leave the game if they get too tired or hurt, cheerleaders keep going! They only have 2:30 minutes to prove why they should win. They don't get to leave the floor. It's a deduction of points if they do!!!!! So yea cheer is a sport just like all others.
Person 1: "I can't believe you have cheerleading practice again today!"
Person 2: "Yeah I know but I love it and we have a competition tomorrow"
A physical team activity, used to entertain and motivate crowds for sports events. While cheerleaders, as well as some other, seemingly biased, definitions on this site will argue otherwise, it is typically not considered a sport due to its usual inability and impracticality as a competitive activity.
While it remains physically taxing, and requiring rehearsal, these are not the fundamentals to the definition of a sport, which is based on it's competitive nature. There are some cheerleading competitions in the world, though that makes up roughly 15% of the cheerleading world, while the rest remains focused on entertainment, motivation, and overall appearance while preforming.
The cheerleading between quarters of the game was beautifully choreographed!
Me: "Hey John, what sport are those girls doing?"
John: "That's not a sport idiot, that's cheerleading."
