Health Goth

Health Goth is a lifestyle and subculture that combines Internet trends, physical fitness, and goth street fashion. The phenomenon arose among groups of individuals on Facebook and Tumblr who expressed a passion for physical fitness but who were also likely bullied by jocks.

Health Goths wear spandex on the outside β€˜cause artificial is how they feel on the inside. Subverting the mainstream, color-centric corporate gym culture, Health Goths cleverly plaster their bodies in black & white and inverted Nike, Reebok, and adidas logos.

Common Health Goth accessories include premium brand bottled water, mesh, and Fields of Nephilim jogging playlists.

Black eyeliner at the gym? Girl that is soooo health goth.

Goth Punk

oh nanashi, you forgot to include the Cure in your bands of early goth punk.

it seems your definition and mine share a few good points, but i'm defining "new" Goth Punk. not the "true" Goth Punk of the 70s and 80s.

the Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees *ARE* in fact the true definition of Goth Punk, anything today is just crap

hipster goth

Someone who tries to be hip by dressing gothic, with skinny black jeans, shirts, ties, waistcoats and sometimes make-up. Frequently found around Shoreditch, Hoxton and Camden in London. Listens to such music as The Horrors, S.C.U.M, Ulterior and Howling Bells, as well as such classic goth bands as The Cure and Siouxsie & the Banshees. Often smokes Black Devils: black, chocolate-flavoured cigarettes.

Cynic: "Look at those fucking lame-ass hipster goths! They think they're so cool and alternative, but really they're just following a trend!"

Admirer: "Look at those ΓΌbercool hipster goths! They're so fashionable and so nonchalant!"

mallcore goth

Mallcore Goth: (n.) One who tends to hang out at the mall in almost all of their free time and can usually be found hanging out inside/outside of stores like Hot Topic and Spenser's Gifts. They tend to wear heavy black eyeshadow, black lipstick, and black nail polish, as well as funny little designs around the eyes and lips that are created with the eyeshadow. They tend to wear clothes with excessive amounts of chains and cuffs, loops, rings, and bondage straps, and lots of fishnet clothing, and thigh-high boots. Music tends to be the sorts of such bands: Korn, Slipknot, My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, and other bands of the sort.

The kids you see around the mall, school, general public who look depressed, when in actuallity they're not. They're just pussies looking for attention who like to whine and moan in their free time about how shitty their lives are, when in actuallity, they live a life with higher status than the average middleclass family. Their parents actually love them, and they're right, but they need to put on a fake show because they're attention whores.

Goth Punk

Sorry Phalkon. It's not really new. Goth Punk came about a little bit before Good Charlotte and co. Well, actually, waaaay before. Try the '70s.
Anyway, punks who dress like goths isn't really new. I'm thinking of Siouxsie Sioux and Dave Vanian, in particular... Then, there were the deathrockers--Christian Death, Shadow Project, etc. Sometimes the Misfits are included, sometimes not.
By the way, it may be worth mentioning that Trent Reznor and Marilyn Manson claim Rozz Williams was an influence on their work.

Zombies, sex, death, and burning crosses... What's not to love?

Goth/Gothic

A style of art, popular in Europe from the late 12th century to the early 16th century. It is also known as the International Style. Gothic art is mainly remembered in architecture. It was created by Abbot Sugert (Shu-ger). He planed to renovate the Cathedral of St. Denis, outside of Paris. Other famous gothic cathedrals include: Notre Dame, Chartres, Milan, and Pisa. The "Leaning Tower of Pisa" is actually the bell tower for that cathedral.

Gothic sculpture became more realistic, however, the forms tended to be elongated.

Gothic painting, like sculpture, had elongated forms, and was quite realistic. However, the artists failed to grasp vanishing point perspective. The most famous Gothic painter was Giotto.

I visited the Padua cathedral and saw Giotto's work. It was if he reinvented painting.
