True indies listen too arctic monkeys, the wombats, the kooks, the smiths, the 1975, declan mckenna, gerry cinnamon, tyler the creator, the verve, oasis, foals, kaiser chiefs, two door cinema club, the vaccines, courteneers, the libertines.
Indies are typically wearing adidas, listening to music and smoking.
However, some think musicians such as clairo and joji are indie - However this is not true they are for people who want to be “different” but love pop music
“That girl so listens to indie music you can tell with her arctic monkeys top and adidas bucket hat”

Originally a fairly cool kid, who wore, did and listened to what they pleased. Dressed in anything that looked cool, from skinny jeans to loose jeans, to established branded polo shirts such as lyle and scott to newer fashions such as allsaints or any make that they personally like. Listened to older bands such as the smiths or more recent bands such as KOL or radiohead. Generally they didn't really care about other peoples opinions apart from their friends. However recently the definition has somewhat changed; Indie kids generally try too hard to be "indie" and try to be different, inadvertently becoming the same as other "indies". The new age indie generally waste a lot of time trying to launch hate campaigns emo's on facebook and the internet, bad-mouthing people who have different tatses and styles.
Examples of different attitudes to other people between new age and old age indies:
Indie kid 1: Oh, have you seen those people listening to top 40 and look at their clothes, they have no individuality!
Indie kid 2: I know, why can't everyone be so unique like us!
(Old school) indie kid 1: Hey, there actually seems to be one or two catchy songs with a beat coming out of the top 40 these days!
(Old school) indie kid 2: yeah, admitedly that kid has a fairly cool shirt too!

This is an example of The Adult Entertainment revolution of the early 21st century.
During the emergence and saturation of online adult entertainment from the 1990's to the early 21st century it was believed that the adult entertainment industry in general would finally become a more open and respectable industry.
Unfortunately regulation, advocacy and oversight of adult entertainment still remained as primitive as they had been before the internet and the explosion of new media development that followed.
The most common examples of this exploitation and corruption being the contracting and pay practices of websites such as myfreecams.com, suicidegirls.com, eroticbpm.com, godsgirls.com and websites found on the spookycash.com affiliate program.
Models and photographers had become tired of being exploited and paid unfairly. The altporn industry had once promised reform and fairness but instead of providing these things the websites that had begun the altporn movement were now corrupting the industry and exploiting talent further.
So an effort of Independent adult website content production and co-op companies began to emerge.
Indie Erotica is a new next step in online adult entertainment.

a kid stuck between the world of INDIE and GOTH , not a poser child like you all will assume, but someone who loves the deepest darkest most "hardcore" music of both worlds.
for those who can't grasp the point: you dress like you're indie, but you dress it all up with a hella lotta black. (And don't forget the music....)

Independent Rock Music (?):
Generally, a very broad term that has limited use. Most people who like indie rock are too cool to like indie rock, especially now that indie rock is a special feature on a certain cable network.
Many indie rockers/scensters are always in competition with each other. They see each other in public and examine each other, but don't talk. It's one big focked up, confusing, ultra self-consicious nod that hip people give to each other, but never talk about outside the internet. Indie rock nowadays is all about constantly altering your taste, and trying to figure out why you stopped liking all these great bands, but then realizing, "oh yeah, I'm indie rock"
