The Accordion Effect

This happens when you witness a line of traffic in which a bunch of dumb ass drivers are tailgating each other only to back off and repeat the process again. Characterized by people who brake constantly while driving and continuous speeding up and slowing down. It can be especially frustrating if this happens on the highway in the left lane when you are in a hurry and you don't want to get caught up or when it occurs on a single lane road where you are unable to pass. Resembles that of an accordion.

Looks like Steve is gonna be late to work again on the account of The Accordion Effect.

Mull Effect

The effect that is felt right after the smoking of a mull.

This effect usually consists of the toker feeling light headed, very high and extremely relaxed. This state leaves the toker vulnerable.

Tokers will usually feel as if their heads are growing larger, colors will be more vibrant, and the high is instant.

WARNING: The high tobacco content makes muscles in the body to relax, please place the bong in a safe place directly after the snapping of a mull, or the bong WILL be broken.

Beau snapped a fat mull which gave him a gnarly mull effect, then he broke into the mall with Michael and turned on all the air conditioners and took all the keys to the bathrooms.

CSI effect

The CSI effect is a phenomenon that now frustrates the american legal system. Prospective jurors are beginning to have unrealistic expectations of forensic technique and expect airtight cases with slam-dunk convictions. While television makes things look easy(as always), the fact is, that forensic science involves excruciatingly long procedures(DNA testing takes days/weeks, not hours to do) and don't always produce conclusive results. Experts blame the popularity of the the television shows Law and Order and CSI(hence the name). The CSI effect also applies to criminals who attempt to cover up their crimes by countering techniques seen on television, such as shaving off body hair to prevent leaving DNA.

A possible sign of the CSI effect: American universities are experiencing a sharp increase in students studying forensic science. However, this may be as much due to the publicity of the OJ Simpson and Scott Peterson murder trials

Paramore effect

When a girl is in a band of all boys it automatically makes her the hottest in the band.

My friend Janey turned down all the female auditions cause she wants the Paramore effect.

The Smalley effect

When your podcast loses thousands of subscribers, so you jump to YouTube but only end up with a couple dozen stragglers.

David Smalley's Dogma Debate podcast jumped the shark, so he thought he'd try his hand at YouTube. Now his audience is tiny. What an armature! That's The Smalley effect in action.

FEMA effect

The FEMA effect refers to the all-too-predictable incompetence that emerges when the federal government machinery gets into the process.

The ineptitude in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was in part a manifestation of the FEMA effect. They probably think that you French-kiss someone on the elbow.
