An "archive bait" is a Roblox term that refers to UGC (User-Generated Content) items that are uploaded for the purpose of being a cheap clone or copy of a specific limited item, but is also uploaded to farm sales for and later be archived.
When an item is archived, it can no longer be purchased or worn and it's models/textures are wiped. This can be used to prevent Roblox from cracking down on UGC copying or other purposes, but it is used in this example to wipe it away. The Robux is also not refunded if the item gets archived.
Some examples of archive baits include head replacements that use limited or rare faces such as the Epic Face, Yum!, Prankster, or Playful Vampire, Dominus clones which may use different colorways or try to replicate the colorway of a specific one, items that are said to "glitch" the player model or make parts invisible, rainbow fedoras, Clockwork or Workclock colorway replicas, etc. Anything that is limited or rare and desired is likely to have a UGC clone which is also likely an archive bait.
"Did you see the Super Super Happy Face head clone for only 80 robux? That's a steal and Roblox still hasn't taken it down"
"Dude don't buy it, it's an archive bait and it will be archived very soon"
