Insomnia which is thought of a disease or disorder when most of it is psychological. Insomnia happens to those who negatively condition themselves to having bad sleeping beliefs and thinking habits to keep them awake. People with insomnia usually take sleeping pills for sleep which do have medication but can be seen as a psychological placebo effect. Insomnia is mainly the inability to get to sleep or enough sleep though Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has shown to improve sleeping habits in those who have insomnia.

A sleep disorder that is represented by difficulties/an inability to fall asleep and/or stay asleep. Usually self-diagnosed by millennials and Gen Zs who stay on their smartphone all night and canβt wrap their head around the fact that exposure to blue light close to oneβs hours of sleep will almost guarantee significant issues with sleep onset, sleep maintenance, and sleep initiation.
I canβt sleep, I have insomnia.
βHave you tried staying off your iPad and computer before bed and maybe like, reading a book, talking with family, calling friends, anything like that?β
God no, Iβm Gen Z, I am terrified of using phones and books for their actual purpose unless the book has a touch screen.

Insomnia that occurs the day before your birthday. In the morning before your birthday tomorrow, you start to feel excited on the inside but not on the outside. In the nighttime, when you try to go to sleep you can't because tomorrow is your birthday and you stay up late that's where birthday insomnia mainly comes into play.
I can't sleep.
Why?
Because tomorrow is my birthday and when I try to go to sleep my body lets me stay up late.
Then you must have birthday insomnia.
It's something that occurs when one becomes an AP student. One loses the ability to sleep, and/or forgets how to sleep... forever. AP Insomnia affects 100% of students 60% of the time, and by that I mean always. While everyone else is going to sleep at 9 o'clock on the dot, AP students are just priming their brainial engines. Yeah. AP students define sleep as:
Sleep (nonexistent noun) - more time for studying and/or doing homework and/or watching terrible late night documentaries on how the Qing Dynasty came about, and/or crying inconsolably.
We may also use sleep to cry and/or complain about how we didn't get to hang out with our study buddies because we were crying about lacking something that we can't identify, which studies show, is "SLEEP".
*Mainstream Student (Blah =/): "Dude, I went to a sweet party last night, and then went to sleep at 9 o'clock on the dot!"
****AP Student Alpha: <quote>Yeah, I got lots of sleep as well, minus the sleep, plus the studying/no life/crying times 7 raised to 5x power, which OBVIOUSLY equals the cosin of the vector of tan inverse 5x/6.</quote>
*Mainstream Student (Frowned upon in AP society): "Que?"
****AP Student Alpha: <quote> "By that, are you referring to K-acid, K-base, K-concentration, K-pressure, or K-equilibrium?"
*Mainstream Student (EW): "Oh, well, I'm gonna go back to bed."
**** AP GOD: "You would." (Insert mental breakdown here.)
And, THAT, my Mainstream acquaintances, is AP Insomnia.
