Substance Pop

A music genre created and originated by American artist, singer-songwriter, performer, author AZRA also known as Clara Lee (www.azraofficial.com). Substance Pop, influenced by a mixture of 90's Max Martin-centric pop music and contemporary pop and grunge rock, includes empowering pop belting and catchy melodies fused with mission driven lyrics focused on self empowerment, authenticity and personal development.

The term Substance Pop was originated after AZRA's traumatic experience of being temporarily blind out of her right eye thought juvenile glaucoma when she was 19 years old. She vowed that her music and any artistic expression she shares with the world will have substance, depth, and purpose behind them to lift others up along their life's journey.

Since releasing her debut EP Freedom in 2017, AZRA has been building up a loyal following with her own brand of “Substance Pop,” a sound she describes as a blend of dance, soul, and pop with a healthy dose of grunge rock and attitude added in." - HollywoodLife.com

substance > spin

It means that substance is better than spin. It is a rejection of hype, misinformation, disinformation, biased argumentation , cherry-picking, mis-framing , logical fallacies and outright bullshit.

In a world of partisan politics, commercial spin and aihallucinations” substance > spin has never been more important.
