Often the fat female was an outsider anyway to her own straight culture because of her fatness. Unable to get many men in the straight world she befriends the ultimate cute boy. He is stylish, funny, fun and sometimes clever and a hell of a partier. They spend all their time together going to bars and late at night when neither has been chosen by others they go home together after the bar closes and have sex. Some faghags have died from AIDS because of this. While "faghag" ryhmes we should not forget the word hag means ugly. Originally the faghag was not so attractive. Maybe now in 2008 the meaning of faghag may include an stunningly, attractive woman hanging out with a gay man but back in the 1980's it was not so.
The fag hag had so much fun with her friend Derek that she sometimes forgot she was unpopular in the regular, straight world.

A female who has close platonic relationships with homosexual men, often because she has trouble with relationships with heterosexual men. Fag hags often, over time, get delusional impressions of straight men from their gay friends and get confused as to why straight men don't act like their gay friends. This leads to even more relationship troubles for the woman, as her idea of the "ideal man" shifts to the homosexual man. Being a fag hag is generally a phase for women, and it passes as they determine what a straight man can actually give them and what they want out of a straight man.
Jamie is such a fag hag; her and Damien are always together. She wonders why she can't get Bill to like her when she expects him to act like Damien but still be attracted to her.

an overweight (fat) girl who spends most of her days with gay boys because straight boys aren't attracted to her. she has a lot of confidence and high self-esteem because her fags always compliment her and say that she's pretty (even tho through other peoples eyes, she's really not attractive). she's the center of attention at clubs and parties and all the fags want to dance with her and get her drunk. sometimes (most of the time) the fag hag falls in love with her fag because he knows her in and out and understands her the most. also when she's intoxicated she has a habit of making out with gay boys and at times hookin up with them (getting fingered, wackin off the fag, and rarely sex but it happens) then in some rare cases a fag hag gets pregnant by a fag and says its from a straight boy cause they dont wanna look stupid. also a fag hag gets jealous when her fag hangs out with other gurls without her, or those that she doesn't know. a fag hags life is complicated because she can't fit in with the straight crowd and only feels comfortable with the fags, but unfortunately the gay world is not stable so she tries her best to stay in the loop of things so that she doesnt get replaced by a newer, younger, prettier, or somewat skinnier fag hag.
