The meme originated from an Instagram post in 2017 by the user, @sleekntears, which showed a guy who was amazingly buff. At first, people didn't think the photos of this guy were real and thought it was CGI but it was later found out that he is, in fact, a real person.
The personification of "gigachad" is Colaws on YouTube but the photos to represent a gigachad is a Russian menswear model, Ernest Khalimov who also goes by 1969.
