1. Black Sabbath, Strapping Young Lad, Cryptopsy, Dream Theater, Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Shadows Fall and Slayer do not sound alike but are all considered "metal".

Metal is the best music around. It combines insane guitar riffs with deep bass rythems and heart pounding drum beats. It is often fast pased and there is screaming involved.
To all those people who bash metal:
Get over yourself, we can like metal without haveing you diss it so please stop.
I like rap too and i can tell you that metal involves more talent than rap, I can rap for christ sake.

quite possibly the worst type of music ever. if you enjoy the sound of someone being tortured and beaten and the sound of people stomping on small animals, metal is for you.
iron maiden is a horrible metal band, in fact all metal is irritating.
