in a fight someone will yell out "shut up or run up"! which means shut up and dont fight like a (pussy) or run up and fight like a man!

Usually considered 'rude' used to tell someone to be quite. Sometimes, shut up is used to express amazement, even if the person it is being directed to is not talking.
