A movie, normally with high production value that centers around some random guy finding a robot or other thing and builds a bond with it. Then he find's out that the owner wants it back and action ensues. Most of these movies have the same plot just a different robot or setting.

movie poverty

When a character in a film/tv show has little to no income, yet lives in a place that would cost them thousands of dollars in real life. This also applies to material possesions i.e. a character driving a brand new car whilst working as a bouncer at a local bar. The phrase was originally coined by TJ Kirk a.k.a. The Amazing Atheist.

Person 1: How does Patrick Swayze's character in Road House afford a Mercedes solely by working as a doorman?
Person 2: He suffers from movie poverty bro.

Hipster Movies

It can be known or not it just has to be on a higher intellectual or emotional level than most. It has to leave you wanting to talk about it for ages because of how a character related to you or made you want to relate. Usually has Indie Music or songs popular music from the 80s.

Black & White Movies is a whole other branch, the classics basically. If it has some problem farthing opinions on political issues or historical events and was made long ago.

Steve: Oh hey Lee! Did you see 12 angry men?
Lee: No... Is it good?
Steve: Yeah! It was mainly talking about the problem of how many juries don't really care about the case at hand so they don't pay attention. In result, innocent people go to jail it's kind of heart breaking once you dwell on it
Lee: Hm... When was it made?
Steve: Somewhere in the 60s...
Lee: *sigh* You and your hipster movies Steve.

Elliot: Did you guys see Perks of Being a Wallflower?
Trisha: Yeah! I did actually. I think I cried like 10 times through the whole movie!
Elliot: Well... I didn't. Do you know what song was playing at the dance?
Trisha: Um.... Oh! You mean Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners.
Elliot: I Heard it was a one- hit wonder back in the 80s.

contract movie

A contract movie is a movie so emasculating, that if a guy is talked into seeing it with a female (since let's face it, that's the only way), it says in writing that the guy is getting action. That way, she can either make good on the contract or said guy can sue for breach of contract. Either way, he's getting reimbursed for seeing that piece of crap.

How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
Steel Magnolias
Armageddon (yes, Armageddon...but you wouldn't think so)
