THE BOOMER GENERATION (1937-1956)- The most radical anti-war, idealist of this generation were born in the late 1930s and early 1940s yet they are never included in the traditional boom years of 1946-1964. Abbie Hoffman (1937), Jerry Rubin (1938), Tom Hayden (1939), Jane Fonda (1937), George Carlin (1937), Peter Fonada (1939), Ted Turner (1939), Richard Pryor (1940) John Lennon (1940), Joan Baez (1941), Bob Dylan (1941). You can't tell me these activist fit the mold of the silent generation. Was John Lennon really part of the silent generation??? People born after 1954 were too young to be affected by Vietnam and to participate in Woodstock. Some of the early punk rock and heavy metal pioneers like Billy Idol (1955) member of the punk band "Generation X", Johnny Rotten (1956) of the Sex Pistols were born during the cusp years.

The "ok boomer" phrase is an internet joke that is used as a method of dismissing those with stereotypically older or outdated mindsets and opinions that are entirely false or generally bad for society such as racism, sexism and homophobia.
It goes beyond ignorance and refers to those who simply don't want to change.
By saying ok boomer, more open minded are saying "okay we heard you and you are entirely incorrect, hurtful, etc but we have better things to focus on rather than give you an explaination to something that you will simply dismiss." Instead, we dismiss the boomer.
Boomers can be any age, but are primarily part of the baby boomer generation. Not all baby boomers are subject to "ok boomer" (I.e. Danny Devito, who despite being in the baby boomer generation is very open minded and accepting. Not a "boomer.")
A 20 year old homophobic man is a boomer.
Racist 30 year olds.
An 80 year old who is not hurtful to society with outdated opinions? Not a "boomer".
There are open minded older folks and close minded younger. This was inspired by a dismissive older person so the term was coined.

Saying “ok boomer” is a lazy attempt at invalidating the opinions of those who you don’t agree with, without using any actual arguments. It was originally used specifically against boomers, but now it’s used against pretty much anyone even if the person is ironically younger than the person who typed “ok boomer”.

Noun - A First Person Shooter video game made in the 1990's, or such a game released since then that is characterized by the same conventions of the time.
