A mysterious rainstorm that occurs in a ninja-like fashion. You don't hear or see the rain, but you when you go outside you are suprised to find it has apparently rained heavily.
The most impressive ninja rain has been known to occur on cloudless, sunny days-- thus increasing it's mystery.
When I went to my car this afternoon everything was soaked but there was not a cloud in sight.. there must have been some crazy ninja rain!

Most common name particularly in Ireland, for intense rain. ‘Lashing’ is also often used by itself. Informal but not disrespectful, and used and understood by almost everyone in the country.

curtain rain is where the act of opening/closing curtains is months overdue. Leading to opening or closing the curtain, with a shower of dust and dead flies from the rail.
