Downing-Kruger Effect

The Downing-Kruger effect is like the Dunning-Kruger effect, but specifically exhibited by people with Down Syndrome. It may be more apparent than usual due to the “stubborn” personality type commonly associated with DS.

My roommate kept nagging me a lot by saying I needed to take NyQuil, even though I actually had pinkeye and it wouldn’t have helped any. I know he thinks he’s caring for me, but he really doesn’t understand what he’s talking about. It’s not his fault though; he has Down Syndrome, so this is just the Downing-Kruger effect in action.

Bitching down the line

The act of someone phoning an establishment or service as a customer and complain unreasonably

The customer who used to moan about the slightest detail wrong with his food at my old job was bitching down the line at my new job tonight about something apparently wrong with his food

I didn't come down in the last shower

Australian slang, meaning I'm wise to your game, or don't play me for a fool. This is a slang term not heard often in the regional centres, but reasonably common among the old blokes in smaller townships.

Davo(upon hearing something incredulous): carn mate, I didn't come down in the last shower!

Get your down on the floor

Something a crazy person next to you would say, not like they're telling you to, their probably drunk and just want you to get groovy with it, make 'em laugh or somethin' Maybe the bus travelers would tip you for getting down on the floor! I'd listen to "Crab Rave" before getting down in front of about 30 people Lmao because I want to be doing something a stranger told me to do so

`My dad told me to "Get your down on the floor" and I got pregnant`

boomer double down

When a baby boomer doubles down on something they know is wrong so that they don't have to face the possibility of being wrong. Often relating to technology. Seems to get worse the older they get. Possibly a sign of early dementia.

Terry pulled a boomer double down as he insisted that Firefox was his search engine and his browser was Google. He just wouldn't listen to reason, probably because he knew he was wrong and wanted to avoid looking stupid.

Pocket Sit Down

When someone pranks somebody else by making a 'farting chair' and the person 'farts'.

Man, can you believe what Bethany did to Samantha! She totally got a Pocket Sit Down!
