Mothers who seek out cosmetic abortions were reasonably capable of preventing the unwanted pregnancy in the first place, through either contraceptives or abstinence, making cosmetic abortions a procedure that's done due to a degree of sexual negligence and promiscuity of the recipient.
When most people say they support abortion, they mean only when it's medically necessary and protects victims of rape or incest. Cosmetic abortions however walks a moral tightrope considering all of the measures one can take to prevent an unwanted pregnancy, and aborting the fetus is seen as rejecting the moral responsibility and duty of raising your human child.
