The term 'Lay down Sally' was coined during the 2004 Olympics when olympic rower Sally Robbins dropped her oar, allowing it to drag in the water. She gave up and laid back on teammate Julia Wilson's lap. Australia consequently finished last.
Since this event a 'Lay down Sally' has been used to described someone who gives up on a job/task right in the middle of it because they can't be bothered finishing.

n. A situation where all parties are extremely drunk and getting laid is a formality. Equivelant to making an easy shot in basketball.

A metalcore band that often gets a bad rap for having simple guitar riffs/solos. Many "metalheads" (Metallica fans) who wouldn't know a blast beat from a breakdown, take everything Lars Ulrich says as gospel, and actually bought St. Anger, (almost destroyed metal) fail to notice the masterful drum solos and excellent bass grooves.
"Dude, I went to the As I Lay Dying show and almost stomped to death in the pit. It fucking ROCKED!"
