poser punk

people who pose as something or someone they are not because their personalities suck so they tend to dress or act a different way just so they could fit in, and then they call other people poser punks coz they think their status would elevate somehow.

sometimes they can be confused with real punks because of certain issues. for example, a poser punk will listen to bands like blink182 or sum41, but sometimes there are real punks who listen to the said bands because they like it personally. and poser punks dress in all-out punk style, while a few punks dress in regular clothes because it's what they want to wear. as you guys have said, real punks don't care about the trend. they do what they want and they listen to what they want. but posers try to dress and listen to something they think they should want.

go to my school. they're everywhere.

punk rock

Rock music with deliberately offensive lyrics expressing anger and social alienation; in part a reaction against progressive rock. Punk rock is an anti-establishment music movement that began about 1976, exemplified by The Ramones, the Sex Pistols and The Clash. The term is also used to describe subsequent music scenes that share key characteristics with those first-generation "punks". The term is sometimes also applied to the fashions or the irreverent "DIY" ("do it yourself") attitude associated with this musical movement. Punks and punk rock were once denigrated by the overwhelming majority of the population, including young people. To be a punk rocker and play punk rock music was to ostracize yourself from your peers and be the subject of scorn. Today it is relatively socially acceptable to be punk and play punk rock music. Thus, some maintain that the punk scene has lost the very heart of its former nature as one of explosive creativity, rebellion, anger, hate, and individualism and that it has become a mere caricature of what once was.

sub-genres of 'punk rock':

garage punk
horror punk
pop punk

Punk Goth

An other "type" of goth with a general knowledge of Goth Culture. They give their own "flair" to the scene by being to such an extreme of non-conformist that they often don't get the approval of other more traditional goths because their quite a bit "wilder" in behavior than others.

The typical dress of a Punk Goth is not always all black. They tend to like a more "punky" look with accessories like wristbands, beanies, and chains hanging from their pants or long shorts.

punk twitch

The compulsive 'twitch' that punk rockers use to remove their hair from their face/eyes. Consists of habitually tossing the head to one side.

His long hair fell into his face, as usual, and he did the 'punk twitch' to temporarly remove it, until it fell back down, again.
